Release of Harlans Hawk 72-04

This Harlan’s Hawk, a subspecies of the Red-tailed Hawk, was found down and unable to fly in Greycliff, MT. It was determined that the raptor was missing several important flight feathers on its left wing, and was not able to sustain flight. Shortly after the Harlan’s arrival at MRCC, the bird molted even more flight feathers prolonging its stay. After about a three month stay at MRCC, the raptor was ready for release and he was released north of the Bozeman area.
